Gareth Holloway

Managing Director

Founder of Holloways Travel, Gareth has over 16 years’ experience in the travel industry. From starting as a Customer Service Advisor to managing branches and working in cruise and retail, Gareth’s knowledge and passion for travel are at the heart of everything we do. He’s here to make sure every customer gets the personal service they deserve.

Ray Hudson-Evans

Director

Ray began his travel career in 1997 as an apprentice with AT Mays before moving on to JMC as an overseas representative. He later joined Lunn Poly as Assistant Manager, where he progressed into foreign exchange. In 2007, Ray moved to Thomas Cook, where he remained until 2018. From 2016, he worked as Business Development Manager for Foreign Exchange, gaining extensive experience in driving sales, training teams, and promoting the importance of purchasing currency before travel. After Thomas Cook, Ray joined Hays Travel, helping to build its foreign exchange business. During this time, he launched a highly successful currency card and innovative products such as the Buy Back Guarantee, which proved hugely popular with customers. Now, Ray is excited to take the next step by launching Holloways Travel alongside his partner Gareth. With his wealth of experience in both travel and foreign exchange, Ray is passionate about delivering excellent service and value to every customer.

Andrea Gardner

Deputy Manager

Andrea began her career in 1998 with Lunn Poly — funnily enough at 11 Somerset Street, Abertillery, where Holloways Travel is now based. Starting part-time, she quickly discovered her passion for travel and moved to Newport in 2003 to gain full-time experience in a busy agency. From there, Andrea progressed to Deputy Manager roles in both Ebbw Vale and Cwmbran, becoming a top seller in every store and thriving as part of great teams. In 2009, Andrea faced serious health challenges and long hospital stays. Despite this, her determination never wavered, and after a short return to Abertillery part-time, she went on to become Acting Manager there before moving on to become Manager with TUI in Caerphilly. Andrea loved her work and her customers — until the travel industry was hit hard by Covid, and she was made redundant. Four years ago, Andrea proudly returned to travel, helping to launch a brand-new store in Cwmbran for a major independent group. She thrived in an environment that gave her the flexibility to offer customers more choice and tailor every holiday to their needs. Now, 27 years after it all began, Andrea is returning to Somerset Street as Deputy Manager at Holloways Travel. For her, it feels like coming home. Passionate about customer service, Andrea always goes the extra mile to ensure her customers have the very best experience. A true travel lover, Andrea has a special place in her heart for Greece — especially Kos, Rhodes, Argassi and Stalis — and more recently has fallen in love with cruising after a Caribbean voyage that left her blown away. She can’t wait to share her knowledge and passion with every Holloways Travel customer.
